BIO

I’m a UK born, NZ based artist, and I work out of my home studio in Titirangi, West Auckland. With a Fine Art degree and a painting practice dating back to 2016, I create a number of series each year as well as some one-off pieces as commissions.

I think that art should be accessible and like to share what goes on in my studio and enjoy talking to visitors about my work. My paintings can be found in homes and commercial spaces around New Zealand, Australia, the UK and US. You can see my paintings in NZ galleries and shows, or visit one of my open studios events.

In 2022, I created a series of large scale paintings for an exhibition at Turua Gallery, Auckland.

I was also commissioned by fashion designer Juliette Hogan to create a painting that was turned into a print for her 2022.01 collection.

I’m currently working on a series of 10 large paintings for a commission for an Auckland Hotel.

my work

As a non figurative artist, my subject is the paint on the surface itself . My work begins with colour and is an exploration of line, value, and texture . With brushwork that ranges from careful and precise to free and loose

I aim to create a sense of depth and movement within the painting. I'm drawn to the interplay of different forms, layering shapes to create the final piece.

I invite viewers to connect with my paintings on a personal level. I often hear that it’s colour that first pulls someone towards a painting and love how this offers people a way to make a connection and take a closer look and discover more.
